Obafemi Awolowo University Lauches E-Learning Degree Programmes

E-Learning
Obafemi Awolowo University’s Centre for Distance Learning recently rolled out the first e-learning solution of its kind in Africa. This e-learning solution is projected to extend the reach of education to those who are disadvantaged by time, age, physical disabilities and also the working class group who cannot leave their places of work to go to school.

Officially approved for launch by the Nigeria Universities Commission, OAU-CDL has now begun receiving applications for the 2013/2014 Academic session in the following undergraduate degree courses: Accounting, Nursing Science, Economics Education and Social Studies Education

This e-learning solution has a Learning Management System (LMS) installed on a customized tablet which allows students to receive lectures delivered by the University’s lecturers, submit assignments, interact with peers, participate in group discussions and get graded without being physically present within the four walls of a classroom.

This tablet device which is also suited for our environment has a long battery life and allows users to continue to study and receive lectures offline.

Students will be taught by the same lecturers and receive the same certificate as the face to face students. Students would only be required to be present on campus for practicals and examinations.

Payment for the application can be made directly on the portal through the use of any bank’s Debit (ATM) card or through Quick teller platform at www.quickteller.com/oauelearning or better still at any bank on the interswitch’s PAYDirect network.

Application is strictly online and closes 12.00 Midnight on Friday, 27th of June 2014.
