Shaikh Mohammad makes schoolgirl’s wish come true

Dubai, UAE: A little girl’s dream came true when ‘Father Mohammad’ paid her a surprise visit to her school.

His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on Sunday visited Al Ahliya Charity School where he met Mira Ali Murad, who invited ‘Father Mohammad’ to her school.

Mira posed a question through a video broadcast during the opening session of the Government Summit, which was held last week in Dubai.

She asked whether Shaikh Mohammad could visit her school – he promised to do so.

Shaikh Mohammad instructed his staff to find out which school Mira goes to and promised her that he is busy that week, but will visit her school on the first day of the next week.

Tweeting from his account, Shaikh Mohammad said, “I was very happy today to visit Mira. During the Government Summit, she asked me to visit her school.”

“Mira is a lovely girl .. I really wish her all the best. If only I wasn’t so busy, I would have visited all the schools in the UAE,” he said in another tweet.

“I was accompanied by Juma Al Majid.. a man with many important contributions in support of education and students in the UAE,” he added a few minutes later.

He inspected the school and greeted teaching staff and praised the role of Juma Al Majid, founder and sponsor of Al Ahliya Charity Schools, in serving the UAE community.

Khalifa Saeed Sulaiman, Director of the Dubai Protocol Department, and Mona Ganem Al Merri, Director General of the Dubai Government Media Office, were also present with him.
