Ashcell Donates to Two Junior High Schools
ASHCELL, MTN's authorised dealer in the Ashanti Region, has donated 100 bags of cement, valued at GH¢2,200, to the Mary Afriyie SDA Junior High School (JHS) at Mampongten in the Kwabre East District of the region.

The donation was in response to the request by the school for sponsorship to enable it raise funds to expand work on its school block, to reduce congestion in the classrooms towards the celebration of its 10th Anniversary/First Speech and Prize Giving Day.

Mr. George Antwi, Headmaster of the school, thanked ASHCELL, and promised to use the items for the intended purpose.

He noted that the items would help to reduce congestion, and facilitate the absorption of the over 1,000 population of both the Primary and the Junior High schools.

In another development, ASHCELL also donated two air conditions and two fans for the Computer Laboratory of the Akyawkrom D/A Junior High School (JHS) at the cost of GH¢3,260, including installation.

Mr. Samuel Sarpong, Commercial Manager of ASHCELL, commended MTN for fulfilling its promise of providing the laboratory with the items at the commissioning ceremony earlier on.

He said it would help enhance a conducive environment for effective teaching and learning, and appealed to the management and staff of the school to take good care of the facility.

Mrs. Faustina Sarpong, Assistant Headmistress of the school, commended ASHCELL and MTN for the kind gesture, and promised that the management and staff of the school would ensure the proper maintenance of the items for the benefit of pupils of the schools at Akyawkrom and surrounding communities.

The Marketing manager of MTN Northern Business sector, Mr. James Bukari Basintale, said the donations were in line with the MTN Ghana Foundation's CSI focus to support communities in the areas of education, health and economic empowerment.
