United Arab Emirates University Signs MOU With Total Company For Exploration and Production

The United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Total Company for Exploration and Production, in order to enhance cooperation between the two parties in areas of common interest. The MOU was signed on the morning of Sunday, April 3rd, 2016 at the main UAEU campus in Al Ain.

The MOU was signed by His Excellency Dr. Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, Vice Chancellor of UAEU, and Mr. Hatem Nusseibeh, President of the Total Company for Exploration and Production. The MOU stipulates the provision of suitable training opportunities for students; the recruitment of graduates; providing scholarships for students and supporting joint research projects intended to promote technological development in the field of energy production.

Dr. Al Nuaimi stressed that signing this memoranda of understanding comes within the strategic vision of the university to achieve leadership and excellence through the exchange of institutional knowledge and experiences with strategic partners. He noted that the university is keen to meet the expectations and aspirations of the national leadership to serve society.

He added that this cooperation enhances the role of the national university in the development of research programs and the application of advanced research methods to develop joint projects. Through this strategic partnership UAEU will improve their educational level to ensure the quality of higher education.

Mr. Nusseibeh pointed out that this MOU sets up a framework for an international partnership to create new opportunities and to enhance the transformative educational experience. He added that, “We are proud of cooperation with the United Arab Emirates University in order to promote the exchange of knowledge and thus enrich society through intellectual stimulation for future generations in the workforce”.
