Computer Aided Drafting and Design Centre Launch |
This was revealed in Dar es Salaam by one of the founders of Desktop Publishing Institute, Debra Backlund, during the launch of the centre which is a franchise of Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) Centre of India.
The Centre also plans to partner with higher education institutions and corporate houses to identify skill gaps that exist and offer customised training programmes for students and professionals.
"In the endeavour to achieve superior training, international recognition and professional development units; CADD Centre is committed to enhance Tanzania's competitiveness by providing CAD and project management education customized to the demands of the industries and services sector in Tanzania," Debra said.
She added that the Centre will provide to successful candidates internationally recognised Certificate after being trained in various programmes.
The Minister for Education and Vocational Training, Dr Shukuru Kawambwa, said in a speech read on his behalf by the Commissioner for Education, Prof Eustella Bhalalusesa, that the introduction of CADD Centre in Dar es Salaam was a leap in Tanzania's learning curve, especially when the country has first class training delivered right at its doorstep.
"Previously, most Tanzanians yearned to receive such training which was only available abroad. I am sure that professionals will take full advantage of the courses offered," the minister said.
Dr Kawambwa insisted that the Centre, while offering these courses should observe the required legalities so that the outcome is fully accredited with relevant authorities and noted that Engineers Registration Board had already approved the course work to be provided.
