Vodafone Ghana Launches Gh¢1 Writing Competition

To encourage innovative and thoughtful spending among children below the ages of fifteen (15), Vodafone Ghana has launched the 2013 One Ghana cedi (GH¢1) writing competition for three months. The children would be writing on the subject "what they would do with GH¢1".

Even though, the valve of the denomination might not be so much significant in recent economic down turns, the communication giant wants to compel children into effective management to enable them to be useful adult in the future.

A total of 50 Samsung Galaxy fully connected tablets would be awarded to emerged winners weekly, whiles three finalist would be given a full year scholarship as the ultimate.

Mrs. Gifty Baiden, a senior communicator at Vodafone at the launch of the competition last Saturday in Accra Mall indicated that there would be panel of judges to screen for the best innovative, originality, clarity, composition, grammar and realistic idea.

She said an entry into the competition is free but letters must contain a used Vodafone scratch card voucher.

Head of Brands and Cooperate Communication, Carman Bruce-Annan explained that the competition was a campaign to encourage children to be innovative and creative, adding that "encouraging children to be thoughtful in their spending is essential in these time austerity measures. It will contribute towards making them grow into responsible adults".
