Microsoft 4Afrika Kicks Off Training for 40 Developers

Microsoft's 4Afrika Initiative is delivering a week of immersion training sessions for over 40 Developers from innovation hubs and universities namely: Mlab in Kenya, HiveColab , Microsoft Innovation Centre and Outbox in Uganda/Microsoft Innovation Centre in Dodoma and DTBI incubation Centre in Tanzania/Students from Kigali Institute of Technology, Nairobi University, Strathmore University,Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and technology,Baraton University, Egerton University, Makerere University, and Islamic University in Uganda.

The first set of trainings involves a full week of exciting, deep dive technical trainings on Windows Phone, Windows 8 and Windows Azure platform. These trainings will be delivered by experienced technical specialists as we value the importance of the App Stars and the role they will play in our ecosystem.

We will also have our partners Nokia and Qualcomm delivering sessions on various aspects of the development process to enrich the team's experience and the type of solutions that will be produced through the program.

Thee immersion program's goal is also to equip a special group of developers with the world-class technical skills needed to build highly relevant, immersive applications & cloud-based solutions. This group of developers will be able to deliver awareness events, develop applications and can potentially be hired/interned at startups and with our partners and customers.

The immersion program also falls in line with the 4Afrika goal of empowering every African who has a great idea for a business or an application and to turn that idea into a reality which in turn can help their community, their country, or even the continent at large. The Microsoft 4Afrika Initiative is built on the dual beliefs that technology can accelerate
