The District was curve out of the Krachi West District by the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development in 2011.
The donation was at the request of Mr John Magisi, Member of Parliament (MP) for Krachi Nchumuru.
Mr Magisi, who received the donation in Accra, said the computers would promote the teaching and learning of Information Communication Technology (ICT) in the District.
“The defining features of the 21st century are globalisation and knowledge-based society. For the youth to participate effectively in any of these, they need skills in ICT.
“These computers that I have just received would be a way of encouragement to students in the area in studying ICT,” he said.
He said he is collaborating with the British Council in Accra to link some basic schools in the United Kingdom to schools in his constituency in an exchange programme.
“Prospective applicants who use to travel from Krachi to Hohoe and Ho to fill tertiary application forms online would no longer travel to those areas.”
Mr Michael Ajyei Takye, Technical Manager of GIFEC said the provision of ICT tools to educational institutions is a major priority government because President John Dramani Mahama is committed to invest in the youth.
He said the donation forms part of the Schools Connectivity Project of GIFEC.
Mr Takye said the mandate of GIFEC has been broadened and repositioned to respond to ICT challenges facing various sections of the Ghanaian economy.
