Both directors of the Freetown College of Management and Accountancy (FCMA) at 127 Kissy Road, and the Institute of Management, Accounting and Technology (IMAT) at Henry Street, Kingtom in Freetown are headed by young people between the youth age bracket of 15 and 38.
In an interactive discussion with the director of FCMA, Ismail Kakpindi Kaifala, 33, he said he is still a youth despite his position as director of an institution that comprises of hundreds of students in the country.
Mr. Kaifala holds a Master's degree in Project Management from a UK university, having completed a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Human Resource Management, and an Advanced Diploma in Logistics and Procurement Management from the Institute of Commercial Management (ICM) also in the UK.
"Despite what people talk about youths in this country, if really young people are given the opportunity they can do it," he said.
In an exclusive interview with Amadu Justice Bah, the director of IMAT College, he expressed the importance of him being the director of a whole college that teaches LLB students as a youth below the age of 37. He said his college is an affiliate of the University of London International Programmes.
The University of London, he explained, maintains a robust quality assurance process for all its study programmes.
"The University of London International Programmesdraws on the expertise of the University's colleges and its examinations are set and marked by the same academics that assess college-based students,"he said. "Despite that fact, IMAT does not award degree certificates, but I am happy as a youth to head an institution that teaches LLB students."
