Makerere Chancellor Appoints New Deputy VC, Principals

The Chancellor of Makerere University, Prof. Mondo Kagonyera, has appointed Dr. Barnabas Nawangwe, deputy vice-chancellor in charge of finance and administration. He also appointed five college principals.

Nawangwe has been the principal of the College of Engineering, Design, Art and Technology. The appointments that were earlier endorsed by the University Council take effect on August 1.

According to a statement issued by the university, Kagonyera appointed Dr. Bernard Bashaasa as principal for the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, while Prof. John David Kabasa has been appointed principal for the College of Veterinary, Medicine, Animal Resources and Bio- Security.

Prof. Abasi Kiyimba was appointed as the deputy principal for the College of Humanities and Social Sciences. Prof Edward Kirumira is the principal of the college.

Dr. Constant Okello- Obura was appointed the principal for the College of Computing and Information Sciences, deputised by Dr. Agnes Rwashana Semwanga.

Dr. Joseph Omonuk has been appointed principal for the College of Business and Management Sciences.
