Lenovo Eyes School Laptops Deal in Kenya |
The company is set to introduce a new range of smartphones in coming months. Lenovo President for Europe, Middle East and Africa, Gianfranco Lanci, who is visiting the country, says it is targeting to be among the top three products in that category.
The company is looking to score a deal with the government for the 'laptops for class one students' project. It joins other multinational technology firms looking to gain from the project.
The company claims 11.5 per cent of the PC market which it says has been a mix of small and medium sized businesses and corporate enterprises since Lenovo Group's acquisition of the former IBM Personal Computing Division.
"In this market we may have got in to the consumer market a bit late. But we see most of our PC competitors still behind us," Lanci said.
