Allama Iqbal Open University partnership with American universities

US fully supports establishment of academic partnership between Allama Iqbal Open University with its American counterparts, said Richard A. Boyum US’s University Partnership and Program Evaluation Coordinator for Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Addressing an Orientation meeting, he hoped that recently reached agreement between AIOU and San Jose California, USA will be successful to provide greater support to the students for updating their technology-based – E-learning knowledge through distance learning system.

Under the agreement, the sides will work in close collaboration to facilitate the AIOU’s students to undertaken their academic programs through online educational system.

The meeting was presided over by the AIOU’s vice chancellor Prof. Dr. Nazir Ahmed Sangi, who in his presentation highlighted the University’s ongoing and future plans for promoting joint faculty research programs and introducing E-learning system at various levels.

The AIOU has introduced multi-media instructional Designing system at campuses throughout the country to facilitate its students in different languages, he added.

The research-based academic exchange programs between the two universities, he hoped will help to meet present and future needs of the students for acquiring education of international standard.

A three-member AIOU’s academic delegation will visit the San Jose University in August next to get necessary training on E-learning and quality assurance.

The delegation will comprise Muhammad Dawood Khattack, regional director, Peshawar, Dr. Naveeda Sultana, Director Centre for Instructional Design and Moizuddin Ahmed, Assistant Professor, Computer Science Department.
