NTI Begins New Programme to Boost Teacher Training

National Teachers Institute
The National Teachers Institute has commenced a new programme to enhance the teaching profession by technically equipping students in their advance years in college.

The new system involves a rigorous monitoring and constant evaluation of students' teaching practice programme.

The programme has already started in the south western states of Oyo, Ogun and Lagos as well as the north central state of Nasarawa.

NTI director-general, Ladan Sharehu expressed satisfaction with student output despite "few errors." He said monitoring of the ongoing teaching practice is aimed at correcting errors in the programme.

"We have been to so many states to monitor teaching practice of NTI students, and we are satisfied. Few errors were noticed and we corrected them. We expect that other visitors, monitors and quality assurance experts to do same", he said.
