As over 700 graduates walked through the walls of the African Methodist Episcopal Zion University (AMEZU) yesterday, the presiding prelate of the Western West Africa Episcopal District A.M.E Zion Church Reverend Seth Lartey has challenged them to use their education to build a better Liberia.

Dr. Lartey, also the Chairperson of the University Board of Trustees admonished the 12th graduating class that they should use their education to think big because the best days of Liberia is coming again as the country enters a new season and it is incumbent upon them to use their education to build a better continent .

He urged Liberians to learn to let go of the past, forgive each other adding that Liberians cannot continue to harbor grudge and engage in violence as a payback time for evil as Liberia moves forward because whatever the world is using today is taken from Africa and Africa deserves the best.

Serving as commencement speaker at the university's Vincent Town site in Po River, Rev. Lartey said the real Africa is a beautiful place and it takes the proper use of education that would make it better, noting, "We cannot continue to look in the past instead let us see Liberia as a land of liberty where all men are equal."

"Use your education to empower yourself and that can be done if you take the path to build yourself, sacrifice and have a vision and a dream; do not give up; hold on to your dreams. Keep on holding on, don't give up; don't give up because quitters don't win and winners don't lose, believe in yourselves," he told the excited graduates.

Giving a brief reflection of their class known as 'It is our time,' in the Kru language, the senior class president, Cephas M.M.D. Flanzamaton said their class was successful due to collective efforts of all graduates.

Mr. Flanzamaton said indeed it is time to lift their country from aristocracy and they are prepared to meet those challenges. He said by their steadfastness to earn degrees, they pledge to be sincere and honest in building Liberia yea Africa.

On behalf of the class, he presented a US$15,000 project consisting of a refurbished computer laboratory, 10 computers and several office equipment for the school's Administration and students.
