Governor Approves Jigawa University Implementation Committee

Governor Sule Lamido of Jigawa State has approved the setting up of an implementation committee to actualize the establishment of the Jigawa State University.

The university sited at Kafin Hausa is expected to take off in 2013/2014 academic session, according to a statement by Public Relations Officer for the state Ministry of Education Ismaila Dutse.

The committee has Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology Professor Haruna Wakili as Chairman.

The committee, according to the statement, is to among many others provisionally exercise the powers of both the council and the management until the date when the council and management are constituted.

It is also to implement, specifically, the recommendations related to the take-off of the university contained in the main report as well as recruit both academic and non academic staff for its smooth take-off.
