Al-Tayyeb Dismisses Al-Azhar University President, Catering Official

Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Ahmed el-Tayyeb decided on Tuesday 2/4/2013 to dismiss al-Azhar University President and the catering official for the poisoning of hundreds of students in the university's hostel.

Previously, the President of al-Azhar University Dr. Osama al-Abd ordered the suspension of the director of the students' hostel and catering official pending investigations.

Besides, el-Tayyeb on Tuesday 2/4/2013 held al-Abd responsible for a poisoning incident in the university's hostel that left hundreds of students ill.

Presiding over a meeting held in al-Azhar Sheikdom with al-Abd and his deputies and other senior officials on Tuesday 2/4/2013, the Grand Imam urged taking all necessary measures against all officials responsible for the incident.

They also discussed means of upgrading the food system inside the hostel to prevent any recurrence of such an incident.
