Uganda: Vision Group Publishes Varsity Guide

VISION GROUP is to unveil a new, fresh and scintillating edition of the University Guide 2013. The pullout hits the streets tomorrow and comes in a bigger size and with more reader-friendly features for the readers.

"This will be a comprehensive guide to higher education, in and out of the country. It is the same reason why we are offering 60 pages of useful material, Conan Businge, the education editor said.

Businge explained that the new pullout covers a wide range of pertinent topics from academic issues to policy matters and students' lifestyle.

"All stories have been written in a simple, solid and understandable style to make reading easier, but they are very informative," he said.

This year's pullout offers guidance to students on important issues such as finding accommodation, places to eat cheap food and clothing in almost all universities in the country.

"We even have survival tips for freshmen. The other issues include a guide on marketable courses, a list of accredited institutions, scholarship opportunities and tuition fees in universities," said Businge.

Vision Group's managing editor for English language newspapers Ben Opolot said: "There is no word good enough to describe the content and production quality and reading pleasure that our audiences should expect from this product,"

This University Guide is Uganda's one-stop centre for all matters of university and tertiary education, generally for serious students, guardians and policy makers. It is a must-buy, a must-read and a must-keep. It is part of our commitment to social service and our vision to advance society," he added.

Opolot disclosed that apart from journalists, the team that put the guide together included those who influence the job market, Federation of Uganda Employers, university lecturers, secondary school teachers and parents.

"This edition of the University Guide is so far our biggest and best, and will help our audiences identify the right universities and understand the associated dynamics."
