Benguela — Five thousand Angolans have trained from universities of the United States of America over the last 20 years, Angop learned Tuesday in central Bueguela province,The information was released by the cultural attache of the US Embassy to Angola, Beata Angélica.
Beata Angélica was speaking at the presentation of the US educational programme for students from around the world to teachers and students of the Katyavala Bwila University, adding 500 Angolans trained in the States in 2012.
She explained that the number of Angolans in the United States of America has risen by about 66 percent over the last five years.
The official also said the US has 3,600 universities and 10,000 training fields.
Beata Angélica added that studying in the US has advantages as it gives new opportunities, development of the English language, written academic assignments, critical thinking, analytic and problem-solving knowledge in foreign environment.
According to her, 16 million students are currently enrolled with US universities. Of the above number 560,000 are foreigners, including 94 Angolans.
