On the 27th of November,
2012, the management of the University of Education, Winneba received a
team from the National Accreditation Board (NAB) at the Ajumako Campus. The team led by Mr
Kwame Dartey, the executive officer was received by the Pro-Vice
Chancellor, Prof. Abekah, The Dean and HOD’s in the Faculty of Languages
Education.
Mr Kwame Dartey the executive officer of the National
Accreditation Board indicated that the board started a five year review
of institutions and also reviews programmes and facilities of newly
established ones. Another member of the team reiterate the position of
the law which states that the board visits any institution that is setup
every five years, and that the visit was to ensure quality and see to
it that the institution has adequate facilities to facilitate teaching
and learning.
After interaction with management, it was realised all
programmes being run at the Ajumako Campus have been accredited and
there was enough space available for future expansion of the campus. The
team from NAB was however worried about the lecturer student ratio
which stands at about one to fifty (1-50) students and encouraged
management to try to bridge it.
