The affiliation was also to
demonstrate to Ghanaians the college's commitment towards the promotion
of quality training of health personnel.
Speaking during the signing
of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Tuesday, Prof. Dr
Dr Buor, Vice Chancellor, VVU, praised the College for
the initiative that would enable VVU help in its nurturing process.
'As you know, VVU is the
first private university in the country to receive a presidential
charter due to the quality of education we give to our students', he
said.
Prof. Dr Dr Buor said VVU
would help in the provision of quality education and sound Biblical
teachings for students of Heacon College.
He said as part of the
affiliation, VVU would validate programmes offered by the College to
enable the award of certificates, diplomas and degrees by the University
to the students of Heacon College, and would also give opportunities to
qualified students of the College to undertake further studies at VVU.
Prof. Buor said: 'VVU would
also assist in staff development of the College as well as promote
exchange training programmes between the University and the College'
