Three Computer Information Science (CIS) students at the HCT-Dubai Men’s College (DMC) have been able to harness the power of volunteerism with the development of their new mobile App called “iVolunteer”.

The three students, Abdulla Abdulrahman Ahli, Abdullah Adel Ahrari and Omar Mohamed Ibrahim, demonstrated the fully working App at the college to representatives from Watani Emarat and DMC faculty on April 17.

Supported by their mentor and teacher Sinan Ghulam, the trio was able to show that the iVolunteer App is fully and responsive to the requirements of the client. The App has been developed using the latest technology from Apple.

Initially, Abdulla Ahli gave a demonstration of the devolved App, going through all of its functionalities and different scenarios of usage. Abdullah Ahrari and Omar Ibrahim interacted with the Watani Emarat team and collected additional feedback and specifications for the App’s next version.

The demonstration was hugely successful, with the students very excited to share their App. The parties also discussed the next phase in the project, including resources for publishing, maintenance, and troubleshooting the App.

Dr Faouzi Bouslama, CIS Programme Chair at DMC, congratulated the students and mentor on their efforts with the project. ”Thank you Sinan, Abdulla Ahli, Abdullah Ahrari, and Omar Ibrahim for your efforts and time you spent on developing this mobile App using the latest technology of Apple. We are very proud of your achievements,” he said.

“I also would like to thank Mr. Dherar Belhoul and the Watani Emarat team for their continuous support and encouragements to our students and DMC community. Thank you for this authentic project opportunity,” Dr Bouslama added.
