7th Abu Dhabi University Chancellor’s Innovation Awards |
Abu Dhabi University is pleased to announce the launch of the 7th Abu Dhabi University Chancellor’s Innovation Awards.
The competition is designed to enhance the creative and innovative
spirit of the university’s faculty and staff by recognizing, supporting
and honoring the most innovative ideas. It is time to acknowledge those
who are creating initiatives to move the university forward by going
beyond the conventional.
All faculty and staff are encouraged to
participate in this competition and express their brilliant ideas.
Moreover, they will be given the opportunity to participate in achieving
a competitive advantage for the university while turning their creative
ideas into reality. This year we will have different themes as below:
For Faculty:
- Promoting ADU in light of recent WASC Accreditation.
- Social Responsibility & Community Engagement.
For Staff:
- Service improvment, business process reengingeering/optimization.
In order to help our innovative faculty and staff realize their ideas, ADU Enterprise Center will offer
incubation services to the first place winner.
GUIDELINES
- You could participate as an individual or on a group basis. For groups, the maximum number of team members allowed is 5 members per team.
- Each individual/group must select one of the project themes listed above from their category.
- Members cannot submit more than one proposal.
- For group projects, members are to specify the percentage of contribution for each participant.
- All participants should fill all the information listed in the Application Form. Any form submitted with missing information will be automatically discarded.
- Participants are to ensure the originality of the innovative idea.
- Each group is expected to submit a final report including details on:
- Executive Summary
- Project scope and description
- Methodology of implementing the proposed innovation
- Timeline for project implementation
- SWOT Analysis
- Impact of anticipated outcome on ADU/Community
- A simple financial budgeting plan, showing the startup budget and the cost efficiency of the project
- Limitation/challenges of proposed innovation
- Conclusion
- References and sources of information

Deadlines & Awards
1. The Deadline for submitting the Application Form is: April 28, 2016.
2. The Deadline for submitting the Final Project is: May 12, 2016.
3. The Chancellor’s Innovation Awards are given in the form of monetary rewards to the winning teams. There are 3 Awards available as below:
First Award : AED 10,000
Second Award : AED 7,000
Third Award : AED 5,000

CRITERIA OF EVALUATION
The submitted projects will be evaluated through a
selected committee assigned by the Chancellor. The committee will
select the top 5 teams and they will be asked to do a presentation
highlighting their projects’ idea.
