Akatsi South Assembly to Construct Early childhood Centres

About five early childhood centres (kindergartens) have been targeted for construction in five communities in the Akatsi South District in the Volta Region.

District Chief Executive for the area, Mr. Samuel Kwadzo Wuadi disclosed that improving standard of education also requires paying special attention to the foundation of the children and this has informed the decision to build the kindergartens.

He said apart from impacting knowledge in the children, such centres are also important to provide the needed protection and care for carrier mothers to effectively undertake their economic activities without worries of the safety of their children.

The new kindergartens according to the DCE will be sited at Lavi, Akuave, Wute, Avevi and Logote.

Mr. Wuadi added that provision of educational infrastructure remains a priority to the government in its effort to increase accessibility to education especially among rural dwellers and his administration will pursue this with the resources at its disposal while seeking external support. 

Meanwhile, Logote is to benefit from a 6-unit classroom block with auxiliary facilities including library, staff room and sanitary facilities, the DCE stated.
