Central University College
The academic profile and programme offering of Central University College has been enhanced with the establishment of a Faculty of Law and its newly accredited Law programme which is scheduled to take off in the month of May, 2014 at the Miotso campus.

The Central University Faculty of Law which comprises the departments of Public Law, Private Law and Commercial Law will run a 4 year programme that will lead to an award of a Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LL.B) under the mentorship of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Technology (KNUST).

In designing the Law programme, broad consultations were held with key legal institutions and experienced legal luminaries to fashion out a Law programme that responds to the societal need for well trained and transformational law graduates.

According to the Vice-President of Academic, Rev. Prof. Emmanuel Adow Obeng, “graduates of the Central University Faculty of Law will be imbued with a strong knowledge of law and high ethical values; and will be competent to function in any sector of the economy requiring legal services.”

He also spoke on the rationale for establishing the law faculty by stating that, “It is a well acknowledged fact that every economic activity has legal implications and underpinnings and this will require the services of lawyers who will interprete the rules for those institutions to operate successfully and as the economy of Ghana grows, the need for legal services will also increase.” He also said the law graduates would be oriented to educate Ghanaians on their civil rights.

The Director of the William Ofori Atta Institute of Integrity of Central University College, Professor Ken Attafuah, an eminent lawyer of great experience and international repute has been appointed as the Acting Dean of the Central University Faculty of law.
