Headmaster Accused of Raping Pupil in Bauchi, Nigeria

The Bauchi State Police Command has commenced investigation into the alleged rape of a nine-year old pupil by a 42-year old assistant headmaster of a primary school in Bauchi.

Police Public Relations Officer DSP Haruna Mohammed confirmed the incident yesterday while speaking with reporters in Bauchi, saying they received the complaint and visited the scene of the incident while the suspect is in their custody.

A source said after school hours parents of the girl noticed that the movement of their daughter was abnormal, and when asked she said it was the assistant headmaster that raped her.

Police had visited the school and took the girl to the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital in Bauchi for medical examination.
