ISIC Association and PUSAC Sign MOU To Promote And Distribute Service

International Students Identity Card Association
The Ghana branch of the International Students Identity Card Association (ISIC Association) and the Private University Students Association of Ghana (PUSAG) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote and distribute the ISIC, an internationally-recognised students' identity card.

The card, which is issued in 124 countries to more than 4.5 million students each year, is managed and administered by the Global Office B.V. of the ISIC Association-- a non-governmental organisation headquartered in Amsterdam in the Netherlands--that is dedicated to improving inter-cultural understanding and increasing educational opportunities.

In an address before signatures were appended, Mr Joe Ala Adjetey-Din, project consultant, said the card enabled students to access facilities worldwide at reduced prices.

Mr Adjetey-Din said across the globe, ISIC had given students access to thousands of ISIC benefits online and offline in all areas of students' life, namely book stores, restaurants, travel, museums, transportation and cinemas, among others.

He said ISIC had built relationships with global organisations that provided discounts and services to card holders and that ISIC Ghana and the Students and Youth Travel Organisation (SYTO) would give PUSAG members preferential treatment in the allocation of the cards.

Mr Adjetey-Din, therefore, urged the leadership of PUSAG to ensure that their members patronised the cards as well as join SYTO Clubs, adding that the signing of the MoU would solidify students' relationship with ISIC.

Mrs Perpetua Opoku-Agyemang, General Manager of ISIC Ghana and Mr Adjetey-Din initialed for ISIC Ghana while Mr Benjamin Panlogo-Logodam, National President of PUSAG initialed for PUSAG.
