University of Dubai Organises First Edition Of Parents Day

The first edition of Parents Day of the University of Dubai (UD) was organized in campus, the event was a great success due to the overwhelming response and positive outcomes.

The event was a fantastic opportunity for parents to gain a deeper understanding of UD’s class-leading standards: how the overarching focus on student success is implemented and how smaller classes and convenient locations serve to facilitate students in their pursuit of excellence.

The event gave parents a chance to interact with University staff and officials, while being briefed on the various AACSB and ABET accredited programmes that make UD unique and a leader in quality higher education.

Majid Al Shamsi, Chairman of UD Board of Trustees, said, “UD students are groomed to be leaders of tomorrow no matter what they specialize in, our meticulously planned academic programmes ensure all-round development; after all, our primary mission is to provide top quality education.”

Alumni Ala Mikdadi, Reem Kendeel and Maitha bin Musabbeh also spoke. Ala Mikdadi discussed the benefits of UD’s unique dual-major MBA programme and Reem Kendeel said she wouldn’t have been able to continue working and get her degree if it wasn’t for UD’s flexible schedule and evening classes. Beside its high-quality education, Maitha bin Musabbeh said two things made UD different than other universities: The advising of students doesn’t stop and the university consistently communicates to students, especially in regards to job opening and professional opportunities.

Majid Al Shamsi added, “I encourage parents to take an active interest in this critical transitory phase where high school students get acclimatized to the demands of university life. Further, parents will be pleased to know that UD has an outstanding track record with 98% employment success rate after graduation.”

In keeping with its student-centered approach, UD’s continues to support students at every stage, from their first day at UD until graduation and beyond through a robust faculty, administration and alumni network and on-going career development programmes and services.
