Sierra Rutile Donates 45kva Generator to Fourah Bay College

Sierra Rutile Limited
The Physics Department at Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone, last Friday received a 45 KVA Generator together with three split unit air conditioners from bauxite mining company, Sierra Rutile Limited. The generator is meant to supply much needed electricity to the Nuclear Science Laboratory at the department.

Speaking during the handing over ceremony, Professor Vidal E. Godwin said the lab had been grappling with sporadic electricity supply, and commended and thanked Sierra Rutile for lending a happy hand to salvage the situation by keeping the lab up and running.

Head of the Department of Physics, Dr. Samuel E. Nonie described the gesture as timely, in that the International Atomic Energy had urged the need for regular power supply to the lab, ahead of an imminent donation of equipment to the facility.

Chief Executive Officer of Sierra Rutile, John B. Sisay said the donation was inspired by their corporate social responsibilities, and pledged that the company would always answer calls from the university. He said the company and the university have a symbiotic relationship in that they both rely on each other.
