Commissioned Classroom
A new GH200,000 6-unit classroom block with ancillary facilities including library, teachers common room and sanitary facilities has been built for students at Kwekutu  in the Abura Asebu Kwamankesse  District.

The project, constructed by the district assembly was commissioned by the Chief Executive William Atta Mends as part of effort to improving educational infrastructure in the area.

Addressing the people at the ceremony, the DCE said they were happy that at last education has been brought closer to the doorstep of residents in the Kwakutu community. According to him, the long distance (4-5) kilometers that students walk everyday was a major concern of the assembly.  He therefore expressed hope that more children of school going age will be given the opportunity to access formal education since the community cannot blame it on lack of school structure.

Mr. Mends also assured of the assembly’s readiness to assist the school to grow but called for support from the community in achieving and ensuring quality teaching and learning.

He advised authorities not to allow the facility to be used as a church auditorium as has been the practice in recent times.

The chief of the town Nana Fuah the IX expressed his sincere gratitude to the assembly for letting them enjoy part of the national cake.
