The Vice-Chancellor of the institution, Comfort Ekpo, made the announcement in a statement, signed by the Director of Information and Public Relations of the university, Godfrey Essien, in Uyo.
The statement said the steps were taken as part of measures to restore academic activities and ameliorate the pains inflicted on many students by some miscreants in the institution.
It listed the committees to include, Taskforce on Records Recovery, chaired by Prof. Anthony Akpan; Relocation of Offices, chaired by Prof. Ntiedo Umoren and Evaluation of Losses and Damages, chaired by Prof. Godffrey Udo.
It stated that all members of staff should continue to demonstrate commitment and dedication to their assigned duties, to move the university forward.
The statement said that other measures taken include relocation of some offices from the town to the main campus
It said that in spite of the crisis, the university was able to mobilise prospective students for the third batch of the National Youth Service Corps and to advertise for the 2013/2014 Post-UTME screening exercise.
Students of the university embarked on a protest against increased transport fare by the university's management. The protest turned violent after police killed a protester. The violence led to the destruction of the vice-chancellor's office, exams and records and other principal offices.
A report by the university's immediate past chief security officer indicted the vice chancellor and management of instigating the violence to cover graft.
