Vodacom Foundation Provides Computers to Kasulu Teachers' College |
According to Vodacom Foundation Manager, Ms Grace Lyon, the donation aimed at addressing the challenges that made the students to miss a joint opportunity when learning the IT subject at the college.
"If the computers would be used correctly, then the problem of shortage of those devices will be lessened, hence speed up efficiency in the IT subject at the college.
The five donated computers were handed over by the winner of 'Vodacom Mahela' competition, from Kigoma, Mr Valerian Kamugisha on behalf of Vodacom Foundation. Mr Kamugisha, who is the student of the Kasulu Teachers' College, walked away with Tshs 100 million after winning the cash prize recently.
During the handing over, the leadership of Kasulu Teachers' College in Kigoma Region revealed that the college has been facing a shortage of classroom for practical science and computers for teaching students.
On his part, the college principal, Mr Joseph Mwangamila, apart from commending for the donation, he called upon Vodacom to support the college in its programs so that it could do away with such kind of problems and instead improve the educational environment at the college.
One of the students of the college, Elisi Kasongo said, in today's world, one needs to be equipped with good knowledge about Information Technology so as to move alongside with the current trend.
