Teacher accused of sexually assaulting student, 14, in parking lot |
The assault reportedly took place about 6:30 p.m. Thursday inside a car parked at Destiny High School, 7210 N. 76th St. The two are not associated with Destiny High School and were there for a special event, said Sgt. Mark Stanmeyer, police spokesman.
The teacher is employed at Messmer High School, and the boy is a student there. The teacher will be referred to the Milwaukee County district attorney's office for possible charges.
Mike Bartels, acting president of Messmer Catholic Schools, released the following statement Friday afternoon:
"We, at Messmer High School, are disturbed to learn about an alleged incident that occurred recently involving a Messmer High School teacher and a student. The teacher has been suspended, pending the Milwaukee police investigation.
"At Messmer, we are deeply committed to the safety and privacy of our students. Our hearts and prayers go out to the families involved. At this time, we will continue to cooperate with the Milwaukee police. As this investigation is ongoing Messmer Catholic Schools have no further comment."
