Governor of Anambra State Gives N36m to Anambra Hospitals, Schools

Governor Peter Obi has distributed cheques totaling over sixteen million naira to fifty-two mission hospitals and health institutions across the State and another N20 Million to two secondary schools recently returned to the Church.

Governor Obi who distributed the cheques at the Governor's Lodge said the empowerment was to further scale up effective service delivery in the health facilities.

The Governor noted that the State government had continued to be encouraged to invest more in the partnership with the Church because of the outstanding results achieved so far, in various mission hospitals and schools, which others are now trying to emulate.

He explained that the church has demonstrated clear commitment in delivering the desired goals with positive impact being felt across the State.

The Anglican Bishop on the Niger, Owen Nwokolo, who received the cheque of 20 Million Naira for the continued rehabilitation of Girls' Secondary School, Oba and Patterson Memorial Grammar School, Onitsha, commended Obi for being a man of action and not words.

Governor Obi urged the beneficiaries to assist government to generate necessary data for planning and execution of projects.

Representatives of some of the hospitals, Reverend Canon Samson Ikedimma and Reverend Sister Mary-Chukwuka Okoli while expressing gratitude to the Governor for the gesture, noted that his administration has remained people oriented and has continued to promote the health of the people.
