The Member of Parliament (MP) for Old Tafo in Kumasi, Dr. Anthony Akoto Osei, has made personal donations of four sets of brand new computers, valued at GH¢3,000, to two basic schools in his constituency.
The donations form part of the MP's efforts at enhancing quality of education through Information Technology in the constituency.
The beneficiary schools are the Salafia Islamic Basic School located at Adabraka, and Pankrono Adventist Preparatory School.
It was in fulfillment of promises made by the MP, following appeals from the schools for assistance towards the study of Information Communication Technology (ICT).
At separate presentations last Friday, Akoto Osei expressed the hope that the computers would go a long way to facilitate academic exercises in both schools.
He pledged his continued support towards uplifting the standard of education within the constituency, and charged the beneficiary schools authorities to ensure the proper maintenance of the items.
The MP, apart from donating the computers, was also acknowledged for donating 40 bags of cement to the Pankrono SDA School, towards the construction of classroom blocks.
The headmasters of both schools were full of gratitude to the MP, and pleaded for more support.
The MP also visited the Methodist Maternity Health facility at Pankrono to familiarise himself with developments there.
