Dangote Cement Grants N10 Million Scholarship
Indigent students from Mbayion community in Benue State yesterday benefitted from N10 million scholarship grant from Dangote Cement PLC, Gboko plant, as part of the company's social responsibility to its host community.

Presenting the cheque to leaders of the community at a formal ceremony held in Gboko, the plant Director, Jaccinto Miranda Miranda noted that since the establishment of the scholarship scheme, N50million has been expended on about 3,000 beneficiaries of the Yion host communities while a 20-bed hospital valued at a N100,000 is in the offing for the Ihungwa-Nor community.

He said a motorcycle scheme for youths of Ipav, Yandev, Gboko town and Mbayion has been put in place as well as farmers fertiliser scheme among others to compliment the already built 20 classrooms and examination halls at various location within the environs.

President of the Yion host communities, Terna Abeda thanked the factory management for living up to the peoples' expectation and appealed for more assistance to accommodate the growing numbers of students in the area.

Responding, Governor Gabriel Suswam, represented by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Education, Torngee Tor-Anyiin, appealed to management of Dangote Cement to aid the benefitting students secure employment in the organisation after their graduation from across tertiary institutions in the country.
