University of Nottingham honors Chairwoman of CRPCG

Madam Chen Jisheng, the Chairwoman of China Resources Pharmaceutical Commercial Group Ltd (CRPCG), has been made an Honorary Professor of the University of Nottingham.

Madam Chen is widely regarded as one of Asia’s most successful business women. She has been with CRPCG (formerly Beijing Pharmaceuticals), for over 30 years and has been named as one of the most influential healthcare leaders in the history of the People’s Republic of China by the Chinese Pharmaceutical Economic News.

On receiving her Honorary Professorship at the University, Madam Chen said: “It is a great honour to receive this award from The University of Nottingham. I am looking forward to building a long and very strong partnership with the University, and working with the excellent staff and students here. I also believe that this will mark the beginning of a close collaboration between China Resources Pharmaceutical Group and the University.”

Speaking about the award being presented to Madam Chen, Professor David Greenaway, Vice-Chancellor of The University of Nottingham commented: “I am extremely pleased to be presenting Madam Chen with this Honorary Professorship on behalf of the University. Madam Chen has been a key driver of progress in the pharmaceutical sector in China.

“For over three decades, she has been hugely influential and has also helped many global pharmaceutical and healthcare companies with the development of their China strategies.”

Nottingham University Business School is also providing executive education for 20 senior managers at CRPCG. The course, which has been designed specifically for the company, covers issues such as sales and marketing, supply chain management, finances and sustainability.
