Two Drown in University Pool in Eldoret

Two people drowned yesterday evening in a swimming pool in Gaba Campus, a branch of the Catholic University in Eldoret.

Eldoret South OCPD Nicholas Maina said the two, a 36 year old man and his 12 year old cousin had gone swimming late in the evening when the incident occurred.

The two had attempted to swim in the deepest part of the pool when they drowned. A friend who had accompanied them, however managed to escape.There was no attendant as the swimming area was closed at the time.
