Moi University gets title to Busia campus

MOI University
MOI University has acquired the title deed for 200 acres where the Alupe Constituent College stands.

Speaking at a stakeholders meeting at Akukuranut Development Trust offices in Chakol chaired by Osili Adungo, Noah Omusolo said the MoU between the university and the Ministry of Medical Services had finally been obtained.

Prof John Wambani from Moi University who attended the meeting said political leverage will deliver the campus for the Busia County residents.

Wambani denied claims that the parent varsity had withdrawn its staff, adding that stringent requirements have to be met to put the constituent college on course.

Those present included Teso North MP Arthur Odera, deputy speaker Moses Ote, former MP Pancras Otwani, cultural leaders Elizabeth Laini and Stephen Emacar, among others.

Odera said he will exert pressure at the national level and local funding from CDF to ensure the dreams of Busia County residentsis  realised.

Okodoi Maskini urged the players to lead a delegation to President Uhuru and Deputy President William Ruto to articulate their issues.

Nicholas Adungo said the failure of the varsity to take off was because the process could not go through political expediency.

He challenged MPs from Teso North and South to draw their performance contract by first ensuring the campus takes off lest they will be judged by the community.
