Dutse — Vice Chancellor, Federal University Dutse in Jigawa State, Prof.Jibrilla Dahiru Amin, said yesterday that the university has admitted 506 students for the 2012/2013 academic session.
He stated this while addressing journalists on the second anniversary of the university.
He said the university has concluded it first academic session, adding that new courses have been introduced for the next session.
"In the first session, we started with English, Mathematics, Microbiology, Agriculture and Criminology and Security Studies.
In the new session which by God's grace will commence in April 2013, we have admitted 506 students, and we are going to add Economics, Political Science, Environmental Science and Computer Science to the existing programmes", he said.
He said the university is in the process of establishing a university farm for the Faculty of Agriculture, and that the university is building a 100 bed hostel for students in addition to the existing ones.
He appealed to the private sector to partner it in the area of staff quarters
