AFRICA, Tanzania, TSN Set to Boost Ties With OUT

THE Open University of Tanzania (OUT) has promised to cement its relationship with Tanzania Standard (Newspapers) Ltd (TSN) in a bid to meet its administrative goals.

OUT Deputy Vice Chancellor--Learning Technologies and Regional Services (DVC LT & RS), Prof Modest Varisanga, said that the audience of his university was scattered thus need a reliable media house that would help communicate its issues more clearly.

Prof Varisanga, who was accompanied by a number of OUT staff members when he toured TSN head office along Nelson Mandela Expressway near Tazara junction in Dar es Salaam, on Monday, noted that both TSN and OUT had a similar goal of serving the public thus it was high time they both cooperated for mutual benefit.

"We are both aiming at serving the public and building our nation, in that case, we need to fully strengthen cooperation. Basically, OUT students are scattered hence we need a consistent media for communication," he explained.

Earlier when briefing OUT delegates, TSN Acting Managing Editor Mr Gabriel Nderumaki said that OUT, being an academic institution, was supposed to rely on TSN for it publishes well detailed stories that were fit to be used in various academic researches.

"We are in the market since 1930 and publish well researched educative and informative articles, for your institution this is the right choice for news coverage and advertisement," Mr Nderumaki said.
