Madinah College, Soitec to train Saudi students on CPV technology

Saudi-based Madinah College of Technology (MCT) has signed an agreement with French semiconductor manufacturer Soitec to cooperate in the field of concentrating photovoltaic (CPV) technology research.

The three-year deal aims to foster applied research in the area of CPV technology in Saudi Arabia, while allowing implementation of a joint training programme on CPV within the Saudi Arabian Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC) and MCT curricula.

As part of the agreement, Soitec has installed a CPV demonstration system on the MCT campus in Madinah to serve as a platform for applied research projects concerning solar energy in the Middle East and CPV performance in sunny, hot and arid conditions.
