For the second time in three weeks, the officials of Diamond Bank Plc paid a visit to Covenant University to finalize discussions they had earlier with the University Management on several areas of collaboration and the endowment of an ICT Centre
The team leader and the Regional Manager, Isolo, Njideka Esomeju stated that the purpose of their visit this timewas to further expand the areas of collaboration or partnership based on their last discussion with the University Management. According to her, one of the things the bank is bringing on board for further discussionsis to know the location for the proposed ICT Centre they plan to build in the University.
She explained that the centre would have two floors, which can take up tofifty(50) computer systems, Automated Teller Machine (ATM) gallery and a lounge. She added that the bank plans to endow a chair in the university and contributeits quota in other necessary areas.
The Vice-Chancellor in his response appreciated the management of the bank for the swiftness of action and the gamut of items they plan to bring on board. He added that their coming is timely with regards to the goal of the university to be one of the top ten universities in the world in the next ten years, fondly tagged One of Ten in Ten (1-of-10-in-10) in the university.
The proposed edifice according to the Vice-Chancellor is unique and comparable to any around the world and will add to the already award winning aesthetics of the university campus.
The Directors, Physical Planning and Development, Pastor J. Olamife and Centre for Systems and Information Services, Engr. B.Ajala later took the bank officials on a guided tour of the University, to locate the site for the edifice and for further discussions.
