He was reportedly shot along with a 21-year-old first year female student of Mass Communication Department of the Polytechnic, identified as Miss Priye.
The student was said to be with him in his car on their way from Bori to Port Harcourt.
The source revealed that the lecturer was shot several times by the gunmen.
Until his death, Ebeee was a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Yeghe community, in Gokana Local Government Area of the state.
He was killed few hours after the Rivers State Police Command declared ex-militant, Solomon Ndigbara, who hails from the same home town with the him (the deceased) wanted.
The death of the lecturer also came about 24 hours after the House of Representatives Committee on Army paid a fact-finding visit to Rivers State to ascertain what transpired between the Military and the people Ogoni.
Eebee on the 11th of March, 2016 wrote a petition to the All Progressives Congress, APC, about the antecedents of Solomon Ndigbara, which he copied the Nigerian Army, the Police and other security agencies.
The reason for his death is not yet known, but he had consistently accused Ndigbara of committing heinous crimes in Yeghe community.
The Rivers State Police command has confirmed the incident.
