Education Tablet
For proper understanding and assimilation of difficult concepts in mathematics and science, the Ondo State Government has commenced a special mobile teaching scheme to enhance students’ performance in both internal and external examinations.

While briefing newsmen in Akure on Monday on the success recorded at the take off of the scheme, the state’s Commissioner for Information, Mr. Kayode Akinmade stated that the exercise was specifically designed to give quality practical teaching of mathematics and science subjects to students in remote areas in the state for the purpose of improving their performance in both internal and external examinations as well as complement efforts of permanent teachers in secondary schools across the state.

Akinmade, who was accompanied by the Education Commissioner, Arch Jide Adejuyigbe and representatives of the mobile teachers, said they are currently operating in Ondo West Local Government Area of the State and said the scheme has been tested in about eight local councils out of the existing 18.

The Education Commissioner, Adejuyigbe said, the scheme will complement the efforts of the teachers by mobilising a team of professional scientists and science laboratory equipment from the State Education Resource Centre in Akure to teach difficult topics, especially in the rural communities in the state

Adejuyigbe explained that it is the right of students to have qualitative education and also the scheme is a way to reciprocate the good work of their parents who he said are predominantly farmers providing food for residents in the State.

Adejuyigbe lauded the efforts of mobile teachers and enjoined them to see their profession as one that is critical to determining not only the future of the students but also the future of the nation in general.

He further stated that any dereliction of duty on their part would have negative impact on the future of the students.
