Newswatch to organise Maiden Universities’ IGR Conference

Newswatch is set to convoke the first-ever conference of Nigerian universities on how to raise internally generated revenue (IGR) and increase the financial capacity of the university management system.

The conference is aimed at rescuing universities from financial inadequacy by expanding sources of income-earning activities in the public and private universities and obviates challenges of paucity of funds, which has become a threat to academic excellence in the country.

The three-day conference tagged: “UNIMONEY 2015,” holds in the NICON Luxury, Abuja from September 16 to 18, 2015, and is targeted at principal officers and heads of strategic units in the ivory towers.

A release signed by the Managing Director, Newswatch Communications Limited, Dr. Bolu John Folayan, informed that the Executive Secretary, National University Commission (NUC), Professor Julius Okojie, who will be the keynote speaker, will declare the conference open.

Eight papers to be presented by renowned university administrators and management consultants will cover areas that will put participants at a vintage position to realise the objective of ending inadequacy of funds and discontinue dependence on shrinking sources of revenue.

Papers slated for Day One, which are meant to boost income-generating skills of participants and judicious use of funds are “Overview of Revenue and Expenditure of Nigerian Universities – a Comparative Analysis of Revenue and Expenditure of Private and Public Universities in Nigeria.”
