Ghana National Spelling Bee Winner Presented Return Ticket By Delta AirLines

Delta Air Lines (NYSE:DAL) the leading U.S. carrier in Ghana, has presented two return tickets to Khushi Jeswani, for emerging first at the National Spelling Bee competition held in Accra recently. The award is part of Delta’s sponsorship of the event organized by Young Educators Foundation.

Khushi accompanied by her coach Emmanuel Afful, will travel to Washington, U.S. to participate in the 2014 world finals of the Scribbs Spelling Bee competition being held this week.

“We are excited to be supporting the National Spelling Bee competition again this year, an event we have sponsored for three years,” says Bobby Bryan, Delta’s sales manager East and West Africa. “This forms part of our support for local initiatives and our ongoing investment in Ghana’s educational and health sectors”.

Delta recently launched an anti-malaria campaign in partnership with the Ghana Red Cross Society. The campaign which has been developed to last through the rest of the year will see a mass distribution of 4,000 of Long Lasting Insecticide Nets (LLIN) nationwide. The program began from the Nima locality in the Greater Accra Region and will extend to the Upper East.

Delta has operated service to Ghana since December 2006 and now operates service to five African cities in five countries. Delta has grown from 22 weekly departures to and from Africa in December 2006 to more than 50 this summer. Through its hubs in Atlanta and New York-JFK, Delta offers an unsurpassed network of hundreds of convenient onward connections.
