The free bitcoin course will begin on May 15th, and will be taught by bitcoin experts and University of Nicosia professors from the computer science and finance fields.
In November 2013, the Cyprus university became the first in the world to accept bitcoin for tuition payments. Additionally, the accredited educational institution has developed a Master of Science Degree in Digital Currency program.
The program is offered online and on campus, and will last for 6 weeks. The first session will begin on May 15th, and future class sessions will be announced throughout the year. Classes will be taught in English.
Antonis Polemitis is an adjunct faculty member and University of Nicosia board member. He was also a part of the advisory panel that came up with the program.
The UK has been busy with staging many different bitcoin related events as of late. Ireland is holding its first ever bitcoin conference this July. The conference hopes to show how bitcoin will impact the world.
Although, the conference may not be as long or informative as the University of Nicosia’s intensive courses, it is still a great way to bring bitcoin to new eyes.
No matter how big or small a gathering is, bitcoin can always make a lasting impression on a new potential investor.
