Innovation Earns Lagos School E-Classroom, Tablets For Recognition

THE Lagos State Government has donated e-classroom and tablet computers to Ayedere/Ajibola Junior Secondary School in recognition of its outstanding performance at last year's 'Power Kids' Energy competition.

The school in the Ketu area of the state won the competition, which saw the exhibition of several innovations from more than 30 public schools in the region.

Making the donation, the State Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources, Taofiq Folami, said the state government had concluded plans to deploy the initiative to all the schools across the state.

Explaining the components in the E-classroom, he said, the installed system comprised of 55 units of 185 watts, 10KVA inverter, four units charger and 16 units of batteries.

Folami said that the initiative was to ensure that schools in the state depend less on electricity for their academic activities.

The commissioner said the project was also part of efforts to boost information technology skills in public schools in the state.

He said the project is been carried out in collaboration with Tanus Book Limited.

Folami hinted that thousands of tablets would be purchased and would be given out to student in phases.
