Five Universities Captures Ticket to Global Financial Contest

FIVE University of Nairobi School of Business students will represent East Africa in a global financial analysis contest in Milan, Italy on April 1 and 2. The fourth year students trounced their counterparts from Strathmore, Kenyatta, United State International University and Riara in analysing Kenya's publicly traded companies.

Judith Ngonyo, Lydia Moraa, Yvonne Achieng, Martha Chirah and Jeremy Riro will take on other winners from Europe, Middle East and other regions of Africa. They were required to analyse various industries' performance in the context of present and future macro-economic environment.

The written presentation was limited to 20 pages which they also summarised in an oral submission to a panel of local Chartered Financial Analysts. The local contest was organised by the Chartered Financial Analysts Society of East Africa while the global one has been arranged by the Virginia-based CFA Insitute.
