Dubai Municipality signs MoU with Canadian University Of Dubai

In the presence of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and U.A.E. Minister of Finance, Dubai Municipality and the Canadian University signed a memorandum of understanding to promote scientific and practical relations between the two parties.

The signing of the agreement came on the sidelines of the opening of Gulfood Exhibition 2014, which launched at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

The agreement was signed by Hussain Nasser Lootah, Director General of Dubai Municipality and Butti Saeed Al Kindi, Chancellor of the Canadian University of Dubai and Chairman of the Board of Trustees.

"The agreement comes within the framework of Dubai Municipality’s mission to expand its relations with prestigious scientific bodies worldwide in order to improve services provided to the municipality’s customers and to expand its scientific and practical horizons. Through the agreement, the municipality is seeking to cooperate with the university in the field of food safety, the environment and public health and safety," Lootah said.

"According to the five year agreement, DM employees working in the field of food safety, environment, health and safety will be provided intensive training courses and certificates as required," he said.

"In cooperation with the Canadian University, DM will do researches in different subjects of above mentioned areas and publish it for the public benefit. In addition, DM employees can use all facilities of the university for their overall educational development during the agreement period," he added.
